Monochrome Through The Decades

As a firm believer in the statement 'fashion always come back into style', when it came to choosing a topic for my Extended Project Qualification at college, I was excited to create a project that showed my love for popular accoutrements worn in past decades.
Every year from the 1920's to the 1980's was such an intriguing and inspiring time for the world of fashion. Styles were chopping and changing left right and centre, giving me a firm base for my chosen title 'How have past fashion styles come back in today's current trends?'
I chose to complete a magazine double page article and a fashion editorial based around 4 different pictures of fashion icons from the 1930's, 40's, 50's and 60's wearing the very much loved, monochrome trend.
After completing my photo shoots, I have to say I was pleased with the outcome, as recreating iconic photographs from the past isn't the easiest task to undertake, however I am now sharing the final prints with you and the originals they are based off.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
Enjoy!

Yves Saint Laurent - Style Is Eternal Exhibition

As a huge fan of any high fashion designer, I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to visit one of the most influential designer's exhibitions this October.
The Bowes Museum and Fondation Pierre BergĂ© - Yves Saint Laurent collaborated to create Yves Saint Laurent Style Is Eternal, the first exhibition in the UK to show a comprehensive selection of the French designer's work and I have to say it was pretty impressive.
After the first initial disappointment of only seeing 5 of his designs, the 2 sided exhibition turned my feelings upside down, by displaying a wide range of his most wacky but also most sophisticated creations, cleverly put together over the course of his extremely successful career in the 'fashion spotlight'.
I couldn't help myself but take photo after photo, and my camera is now full of fabulous fashion, designed by the inspiration that is, Yves Saint Laurent.
(Prepare for the overload of photographs)
Enjoy!

Thanks for reading!
