Just a little update!

So I just wanted to give you all a quick update about what's going on with my blog at the moment!
I was given some great advice to change the way my blog looks to make it more appealing to you guys and more satisfying to read, and I have really taken it on board and am in the process of making changes!
As you can see I have already changed the template and to be completely honest I'm not sure that I'm completely happy with it. The pictures are distorted and blurry, posts are difficult to edit, so I have decided to look for another one!
At the moment I haven't found a template that I like. Simple, white, easy to use and attractive are my main priorities and its taking some time to find the perfect template for my blog that you guys will also love!
So over the next week or few you may see my blog changing, and I know its a bit inconvenient and frustrating to see constant changes but I want my blog to be perfect so you will enjoy reading it!

So that's my little update for today!
If you guys know of any good templates with good reviews that I might like, please let me know!

Thank you for reading! Xx

The Liebster Award!

I have seen a lot of bloggers being nominated for this award and I never actually thought anyone would nominate me! So thank you Nina for the nomination! Make sure you check out her blog!

Ok so the rules are:

1. Thank and link the person who nominated you

2. Answer the nominators 11 questions

3. Nominate 11 small blogs who you believe deserve this award and include their links

4. Create 11 new questions for your nominees to answer and notify those nominees via social media/blogs

The questions Nina asked are:

1. What was the first item of makeup you or someone else bought for you?
This is a hard one! I actually have no idea what the first item of makeup I got was! It was probably a lip gloss or something from a friend or family member

2. Why did you start a blog?
Well if you read my first ever blog post you will know that I want to be a fashion journalist eventually so starting my blog is a step towards achieving that goal. Also I have always loved reading other peoples blogs and I was inspired to start my own!

3. Who is your favourite blogger?
This is also a very hard question! I have a lot favourite bloggers who write amazing content but I have to say Zoella is amazing as I am sure everyone knows, together with Niomi Smart! I also really like Lilly Melrose. I always love to read her posts.

4. Do you have any unconventional beauty tips?
I am definitely not a beauty guru and to be honest I don't do anything in my beauty routine that can be classified as unconventional! I will get back to you on unconventional beauty tips!

5. Can you cook?
I haven't had much experience with cooking, I can bake and I love it! I would like to say I could cook if I tried making a meal but that hasn't happened yet!
I have made the odd simple tea but nothing fancy!

6. Are you happy with your hair?
It depends what kind of day it is! Sometimes I love my hair, sometimes i just want to chop it all off! I have very long hair and it gets in the way a lot, but it does mean I have a lot of options when it comes to styling!

7. What was the most amazing place you have ever been to?
Its hard to choose just one!
I have been to the Maldives quite a few times and its so beautiful!
Rome is also so amazing! The buildings and the ancient scenery is gorgeous!

8. Do you live in a city, suburban or rural area?
I live in a suburban area

9. How would you change your life to make it better?
Well I am actually quite happy with my life but I would probably do more exercise! I have said I would do this for years, and although I do dance every week, I really need to do more!

10. What is the longest flight you have been on?
I have been on a 12 hour flight to the Maldives quite a few times

11. Favourite quote?
'Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world' Marilyn Monroe
I love this quote!

My questions:

1. What is your most favourite item of clothing that you own?

2. What is your dream job?

3. Where is the place you would most like to visit?

4. What is your idea of a perfect day out?

5. Who is your role model?

6. If you had one wish, what would it be?

7. What is your favourite time of year?

8. What is your favourite film?

9. If you could be another person and live their life for one day, who would you be?

10. What is the makeup item you can't live without?

11. What is the one thing that defines your personality?

And finally the people I nominate are:

Can't wait to see your answers!

How are you guys liking my new template? Let me know what you think!

Thank you for reading! Xx

Monday Again & Plans for London!

So it seems that I have got into a pattern of posting on a Monday so I thought I would carry on the 'tradition' as it is, and give you a little something to read today!

I am actually quite excited at the moment because, as you can probably guess from the title of this post, I am off to London tomorrow to spend a few girly days with my mum, and that of course means LOTS of shopping! It seems to have become an annual trip for us and I have to say its much needed!
Since we are away for Wednesday also this week, my Wednesday post will be slightly late! (Another posting schedule I seem to have fallen into!)
BUT this does mean a massive haul is to come with the items I pick up in London, so that is something to look forward to!
Since I am going to London, I thought I would let you all know what we have planned!

1. Of course like I mentioned, lots of shopping! High street stores mainly, but no one can resist having a quick look around the designer shops and dreaming about the items you can't afford!

2. Shows! Usually we go to just one show, but this year its so hard to decide what we want to see, so hopefully we plan see the Lion King or Wicked again and The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie (Something different to what I usually go for)

3. Food! We always love to go out to eat in London, and of course my personal favourite Ed's Diner, the American style diner! Cafes are a must as well! There are so many cute cafes around London selling the most amazing cakes and pastries and trying them is something you can't go to London and not do!

4. The final thing we have planned is something a bit touristy but why not see the sights of London why you are there? I know I have already seen London from above whilst on the London Eye but the Emirates Airline is something a bit different and fun!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my plans for the next few days in London!

Thank you for reading! xx

The 2015 Grammys..Favourite Outfits

I always love looking at what all the celebs are wearing when they attend awards shows such as the Grammys! There are always some beautiful dresses and outfits but also some that are not so great!
I wanted to share with you my favourite outfits worn to the 2015 Grammys!
Enjoy!

Rhianna's dress this year was, I have to say, very outgoing! The bright pink dress by Giambattista Valli was a stand out piece that caught everyone's eye I'm sure!

Taylor Swift has always had amazing style in my opinion and her dress at the Grammys this year by Elie Saab was no exception!
I love the teal green colour and the style  is perfect for her figure! This is probably my favourite!

Beyonce never fails to impress and her dress this year by Proenza Schouler was beautiful! The elegant black dress with a low v neck hugs her figure perfectly and fits her style to the t!

Katy Perry's midi dress by Zuhair Murad was a stand out to a lot of people this year. This style is so fashionable and chique and has a slight 20's glimmer to it! Love love love!

Gwen Stefani rocked the Atelier Versace jumpsuit this year! I love how the black fabric is contrasted with the nude sculptured bodice! Its so flattering and a perfect statement piece to wear!

A very smart trouser suit was worn by Anna Kendrick and I have to say she pulled it off! This is a very simple plain black piece by Band Of Outsiders with also a very simple silhouette, but the simplicity is what makes this outfit so elegant!

A long fitted bodycon dress by Emilio Pucci was worn by Chrissy Teigen showing off her model physique, and I have to say it suits her beautifully!

The final dress that I loved this year at the Grammys is probably the most simple but fits the figure of Jennifer Hudson amazingly! This white strapless number by Tom Ford is gorgeous!

I hope you enjoyed looking through my favourite outfits worn to the 2015 Grammys!
What was your favourite?

River Island Wish List

River Island is one of my favourite high street stores and has been for some time. They never fail to provide the best up and coming styles and I love that I can always find something I want to buy!
So I thought why not look through what River Island have out now, and make a wish list containing a few of my favourite pieces... Enjoy!!

1. The first piece I found is this gorgeous lilac coloured Cami top with spaghetti straps and a keyhole cut out at the back. I think this kind of top is a must have in everyones wardrobe and is so easily adapted from day to night time wear! Link to page

2. The next top I have on my wish list is the beige cold shoulder strappy t-shirt. I love how pretty and feminine this top is and the I fell for the style instantly! Link to page

3. I have been wanting some grey jeans for a long time and as soon as I saw these at River Island they went straight on my wish list! I think these are so versatile in anyones wardrobe and they go perfectly with all styles of top, plus they are ripped which is very in right now!  Link to page

4. The next item featured on my wish list is the grey marl short sleeve side split t-shirt. I love this style right now and it is perfect for a casual everyday look!  Link to page

5. The red short sleeve swing dress stood out to me when I saw it. This is a perfect day to night dress and can be dressed up or down very easily. The style is perfect for all seasons! Link to page

6. I added a jacket to my wish list because you can never have too many! The pink crepe relaxed fit draped jacket would be a gorgeous addition to any wardrobe and the girly pastel colour makes for a perfect spring jacket! Link to page

7. The final item on my River Island wish list is of course shoes! I'm in love with these pink wood effect platform sandals with a metallic gold heel detail. They are the perfect summer sandal with a very comfortable heel height and would look amazing with any spring/summer outfit! Link to page
I hope you enjoyed looking through my River Island Wish list!

Textiles Final Piece

So,I have been studying textiles since High School and have since carried it on to A level. I have always loved working with fabric and creating my own garments and textiles pieces so I thought I would share my first A level piece with you!

My brief for this project was floral pattern and geometry and I researched many different artists and designers to inspire my final design.
I have to say it was a VERY long project (about 22 weeks) therefore I have a lot of build up work which eventually lead me to land on my final idea. It took a lot of experimenting and testing to choose what I was going to focus on, including etching (not my favourite!), collagraph, clay, applique and ink drawing.
My final piece became a framed wall hanging based around embroidery with the colour scheme of purple, navy and teal (to go perfectly with my bedroom).
I had 3 weeks to complete it, 9 textiles lessons, and I did it!
I have to say not everything went as planned but its quite an accomplishment that I got it to look even the smallest bit like my design!
I would love to know what you think about my final piece and many more textiles posts are to come in the future!

Thank you for reading! Xx

My Everyday Makeup

I have to say, I have gone through quite a few makeup brands and products, some I have loved, some not so much, but I have finally landed on a set of makeup products and I truly believe they are the ones that I will continue to use for a long time to come.

The first product I use before I apply my makeup is the E45 moisturising cream. I have to say I love this moisturiser. My skin is VERY unpredictable, so whether my skin is dry or oily E45 is always a winner for me!

The next product I apply to my skin is the Bare Minerals Prime Time face primer. This is a primer of a gel consistency and primes your skin before foundation. When I first used this primer I originally thought it was too oily for my skin because of its consistency. Don't let it fool you! Once patted into the skin, this primer leaves your face feeling so soft and smooth for a perfect base, helping your makeup stay on ALL DAY!

My foundation in my opinion is a life saver! I wish I had tried this sooner because now I couldn't live without it. I use the Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 foundation in the shade Fairly Light. I have to say its the best foundation I have tried and it is perfect for my skin. The shade fits perfectly with my skin colour and it gives you a more natural look instead of that 'umpalumpa' look. As you can tell from the name, it is a mineral foundation so its perfect for people with oily skin and is super easy to apply. I definitely recommend it!

The next product I use is also, surprise surprise, from Bare Minerals! I use the Bare Minerals Warmth which is essentially a bronzer. It is quite a dark mineral bronzer so you don't need a lot on your brush at all! When applied, warmth gives you a radiant, healthy looking hue and contours your face perfectly. I use this everyday as it adds some much needed colour to my face!

Finally for my face, I use the Bare minerals Mineral Veil. This is a translucent finishing powder that leaves your makeup look feeling smooth and looking radiant. I have to say I don't use this everyday. I tend to leave it for special occasions or for when I'm feeling particularly enthusiastic about my makeup.

Moving on to my eyes! I take the longest on my eye makeup, this is the part of my routine that I must do and take the time to get it right.
The first step for my eyes is primer. I use the Benefit Stay Don't Stray eyeshadow primer to make sure my eye shadow stays all day! I have to say it does work for me! As far as eye primers go, I'm impressed with the way it works and helps my eye shadow stay put all day.

Next I move on to the eye shadow. I have been using the Fearne Cotton eye shadow palette for about 2 years and I have loved it so much! I use the gold shade all over my lid and take the dark brown colour and line my upper lash line and blend it it into the crease. I line my lower lash line with the same colour. I think this is a gorgeous palette and the gold and brown have done me very well, but I was so upset to learn it is no longer on sale! I'm going to have to find a new eye shadow palette, but I definitely would recommend this (if it was still available!)

I have gone through many many different mascara's and I tend to change my mascara every time I buy a new one unless I really love the one I'm using! The mascara I am currently using is the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara in black. I do really like this mascara! It makes my lashes look super long and full and I don't actually need to apply as much as I usually would with a different brand. Its also super cheap! Definitely recommend this!

Finally to complete my makeup look.. Lips!
I don't own a lot of lip products, I stick to a select few that I really like.
The product I use every day without fail on my lips is the eos pomegranate lip balm. This is the best lip balm I have tried, it makes my lips super soft and it tastes great!

When I feel like my lips need a bit of colour, I wear the Rouge Edition lipstick by Bourjois in the colour Rose Tweed.
I received this as a gift from a friend and it is such a pretty colour. I don't tend to wear bright lipsticks so this is a perfect natural shade for me.

The final product I use is lip gloss! I use the Bourjois 3D effect lip gloss in the colour Rose Chimeric. This is a lip gloss with a brush applicator making it so easy to apply. It is a perfect light pink colour and stays on my lips all day. I love it!

The brushes I use everyday are quite basic, but perfect for my makeup routine. From the right, the first brush is my foundation brush by Bare Minerals, the next is my Warmth/Bronzer brush also by Bare Minerals. The next brush is my concealer brush by Bare Minerals, my eye shadow blend and contour brush is the fourth one by No7 followed by my smoky eyeliner brush also by No7.
These brushes are pretty inexpensive and great for everyday use!

Hope you liked my everyday makeup!
